Suzanne is in her 14th year of coaching volleyball. She started her coaching career in Northern California where she led the Varsity team at Shasta High School (2000-2002). She also coached at the Power 15s, 16s and 17s level (1999-2003) in the NCVA region. In 2001, her 17s finished top 10 in the region.

Coming off of a tremendous 2013 season where the Lady Raiders wrapped up as Back-to-Back-to-Back-to-Back State Champions, Coach Fitzgerald is eager to develop the new young talent coming in this year.

After moving to Atlanta in the summer of '03, Suzanne obtained a head coaching job at Lakeview Academy in Gainesville, Georgia. During her tenure ('04) at the school, she lead the team to a 27-5 season. That same year, she joined forces with Vertical One and took the 14-1s team to a top ten qualifier finish (tied 9th) at Big South.

In 2005, she coached the JV team at Northview High School,where her team finished with a 24-4 record. She then joined the varsity team and assisted as they went on to win the 05' State Championship (AAAAA). In 2006, she moved from Northview to take on the head coaching position at Walton. The Lady Raiders made their first appearance since 20002 at State in 2006 under Coach Fitzgerald. The Lady Raiders made it to the first round--but their fairy tale ended abruptly with a first-round loss to Chattahoochee in five sets. In 2007, the Lady Raiders again made a statement as Area Runner-Ups and Finshing in the Elite Eight before finishing to eventual State Finalists--Kennesaw Mountain. From 2009-2012, the Lady Raiders have appeared in the State Championship match 4 consecutive times and won for the past three years straight.

Suzanne is an English teacher at Walton High School and has two children, Celeste (15) and Caden (9). She is engaged to Timothy Sanchez who also shares a love of coaching the game. Other interesting facts......She was a Marine. She loves sushi, prefers sunflowers to roses, mountains to the ocean and a relaxing game of hangman to any sort of entertainment. Ultimately, Suzanne is committed and convinced to the philosophy that volleyball is the best medium in which to train young women for the game of life.
